It's been 10 years since the horrific nightclub shooting. We've endured and learned, but our wounds still ache

On Tuesday, the State Attorney's Office issued a notice that the case was being dropped, citing that it could not prove the “use of force was not justified beyond a reasonable doubt.”

Orlando Police Chief John Mina woke up early June 11 to a tragedy. Singer Christina Grimmie had been fatally shot hours before while signing autographs outside The Plaza Live in the Milk District.

In the years since the Pulse shooting, Orlando law enforcement has expanded active shooter training, upgraded gear and strengthened community resilience.

Agency spokesperson Capt. Kim Montes said homicide detectives are investigating the incident while the medical examiner confirms the cause of death.
