The final results of the 30 local government areas were announced by INEC officials at the INEC headquarters in Osogbo, the Osun State capital.

When the results were moved to the state collation centre for the final stage of the process, none of the APC agents was present.

Mr Adeleke of the APC was formally declared the winner of the election by the INEC returning officer, Joshua Ogunwole.

Atiku, who has sought Nigeria's presidency in six election cycles since 1993, had previously supported petrol subsidy removal during some of his campaigns.
