At the end March, LEGO Ideas started a LEGO Pokemon building contest where the winning build would become an official set. The premise was to build an original full art Pokemon TCG card from a select list of eligible Pokemon. The fan vote for the contest is now live and there are five finalists to choose from. You have until Jun 11 to vote for your favorite build and the winner will be announced on February 4, 2027.

Today LEGO has revealed a new wave of LEGO Pokemon sets coming out in August. The sets will utilize the new SMART Play system to have the SMART Brick makes sounds and have the Pokemon interact with each other. All the sets are available for pre-order today on the LEGO Shop.

A few days ago, I was privileged to be sent a copy of the September 2013 issue of BrickJournal by TwoMorrows Publishing. This copy is Issue #25 of the popular LEGO magazine and focuses on the theme of Castle-related builds. It has 84 pages of LEGO goodness and retails for $8.95. In addition to the new LEGO Pokemon sets that have recently been revealed, there are also some new recruitment bags that will be coming out as well. The first one is the Premier Ball (30729) which has 46 pieces. The other one is the 56 piece Trainer Supplies (30730) that has a number of items used to catch Pokemon. There’s no word yet on how they will be distributed at this time.

LEGO has revealed two new LEGO Editions Formula 1 helmet sets featuring the McLaren team. Both sets are available for purchase starting today. These sets join the Ferrari team of Charles LeClerc and Lewis Hamilton that were recently released as well. The sets also come with minifigures of the respective drivers.

The other June 2026 Chinese Traditional Festival set that we’ll be checking out is the Ancient Moon-Gazing Inn (80121). It has 1,530 pieces and retails for $129.99.

It’s been a few weeks since our last LEGO Ideas update and there’s been quite the activity for the Second 2026 Review Stage. As of right now, we’re up to 23 projects that have qualified a month into the period and at this pace, we’ll probably see around 100 by the time it is over.

A day after the PC demo for the LEGO Marvel Super Heroes video game went live, the Xbox 360 version is now available for download as well. Head over to Xbox Live to get your free demo right now. The PlayStation 3 version will be available at the PlayStation Store later today. We’ve already demoed the PC version of the game and our review is already live. A new LEGO Ideas set has released for June which is one of Peanuts’ most famous characters, Snoopy’s Doghouse (21368). It has 964 pieces and retails for $89.99.

If you haven’t voted yet, there are only a few days left to get your votes in for the LEGO Ideas Pokemon Trading Card Game building contest. Voting ends in just a few days on June 11 and there are 5 finalists to choose from. There were originally 756 total submissions and LEGO whittled it down to the ones below. The winning build will be announced on February 4, 2027.
