The idea is getting new attention from the Trump administration as an alternative route to limit citizenship rights.

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church started collecting donations on Monday with the help of some beloved Brewer's players and Forward Latino. On Friday, July 3 at 3 p.m. they officially stopped collecting donations after filling thousands of boxes and cases of water. The pastor at Blessed Sacrament church as well as members of the church have been directly affected by the devastation. As they process all of the emotions of the situation, Father Norberto Sandoval says it's been helpful to see the community support-- from donations to volunteers.

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Mason Street Grill has become a staple in Downtown Milwaukee for many people looking to indulge in steak and seafood. All year long, they're celebrating with special events including a one-of-a-kind Pappy Van Winkle dinner and Cocktail Atelier, a patio and chef's counter experience where you make your own drinks.

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- MKE Moms is a local workout group started by Haley Bretl's desire to build a community around motherhood and fitness. Twice a week, moms meet at the tennis courts at Lake Park to workout with like-minded people. Half of the space is women on mats working out, but the other half are their children being cared for by a nanny. Classes take place from 9-10 a.m. Mondays and Wednesdays.

Rep. Analilia Mejia approached Democratic leaders with an idea to form a task force examining how attacks on the amendment promising birthright citizenship also threaten reproductive, voting and LGBTQ+ rights.
