Marcia Bornfriend is a past president of The Federation of Jewish Women’s Organizations of Maryland, an organization that oversees a number of Jewish women’s groups across the state.

Like so many others, Ari Abramson loved Baltimore but didn’t think it would be his home when he became a young professional and eventually, a family man. He graduated from Muhlenberg College in 2003 with plans of becoming an investment banker. Before he knew it, he was right back home, and 23 years later, he couldn’t be happier about it.

Dovid Bierer is a talented young man. He just graduated early from Beth Tfiloh, runs a sourdough business and has worked a handful of catering and restaurant jobs in addition to generally being a lover of food.

On June 8, the Jewish Community Center of Greater Baltimore announced three new organizational leaders that are taking on key roles within the JCC. All three are women — and CEO Paul Lurie said that is something to be proud of for the organization.

When Ann Berman started teaching at Krieger Schechter Day School in the late 1980s, education was much different. Back then, mimeographs were in use. They used a special program just to be able to type in Hebrew.
