As part of the program, residents can opt to have their smoke alarms inspected during a house visit by Caledon firefighters, who'll also be available to chat about fire prevention

The sites, Pinchin Pit and Flaherty West Pit, are now owned by conservation authority, which recently held its first public engagement event on the project.

The project, dubbed CAMSafe, provides police with a database of registered addresses that have security cameras, CCTV systems and doorbell cameras.

The free annual event takes place 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sept. 28 at the Caledon East Community Complex.

Siraya Franklyn, 20, competed at the 2023 Nations Cup/IBTF World Baton Twirling Championship in Liverpool, England, where she placed fifth in a solo event, received a silver medal (with her teammates) in the twirl team event and brought home a bronze medal (with Canada team) in the twirl corps event.

The Supervised Practice Experience Partnership program provides those going through the nursing registration process with an opportunity to gain work experience in order to complete registration requirements.

Construction on the project, believed to be the province’s first women’s and children’s hospital, is slated to begin in 2025.

Among those honoured were Citizen of the Year award recipients Baileigh Nolan, Sharanjeet Kaur and Gian Paul.

Applications are now being accepted to the program, which runs 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. July 23 to 26.
