At Canal Winchester Local Schools, Handle with Care is an initiative to support students who have experienced a difficult situation.

The City of Canal Winchester and Diley Ridge Medical Center, in cooperation with the Fairfield County Sheriff’s Office and the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), will host a National Prescription Drug Take Back event from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Oct. 25, at the Diley Ridge Medical Center parking lot, 7911 Diley Road.

Residents of Canal Winchester will be asked to vote on city charter amendments during the Nov. 4 general election. The city charter serves as the constitution of the city’s local government. These amendments are a result of an extensive review completed by the Charter Review Commission, an 11-resident panel appointed by city council and Mayor Steager. By Charter, a Charter Review Commission must be appointed every five years.

The Carroll Community Festival Committee announced its selection for the 2026 Senior King & Queen. This year’s couple has resided in the area for 43 years and has contributed to projects that have benefited our community. This year, the King and Queen will be Robb and Kris Ingram. This year’s festival will be held Aug. 14 and 15.
