If confirmed, the jurist would be the ninth judge President Donald Trump has named to that federal bench.

The complaint centers a post by the high-profile lawyer who purports to name the "worst of the worst" federal judges, and who continues to critize jurists.

South Florida's three circuit court systems have seen growing negligence dockets since a 2023 tort reform. This increase has been accompanied by rising head counts at the state's largest plaintiffs firm and its largest insurance defense firm.

The formal robing ceremony performed for every judge was already scheduled for next week when the jurist got news of his elevation from Gov. Ron DeSantis.

The machine recount started Friday afternoon in the race that pitted an attorney against an incumbent judge.

The newest judge named to the Broward Circuit Court is expected to be sworn in by the end of September.

The judge told Law Monday he's applying for an appointment to the bench he just lost by 565 votes.

"You’re dealing with a sterile case," plaintiff counsel said, but the verdict marks one of the only public payouts Boeing has faced since admitting liability in a pair of 737 MAX jet crashes that killed 346 people.

"We’re hoping to create an environment where [litigants] will go down to the local watering hole and look across the bar and say, ‘Oh my goodness, you did your trial in front of a state court? That must have been horrible,'" said retired Palm Beach Circuit Judge James Martz, who leads the private judging practice at the Boca Raton office of Schwartz Sladkus Reich Greenberg Atlas.
