Highlight dunks, high-level defense, timely three-point shooting, and passionate coaches were all on display as five teams made the state playoffs, with two teams, East Rutherford boys and Thomas Jefferson Classical Academy girls, earning one seeds and the Thomas Jefferson boys team going on a historic run to make the 1A State Championship game.

The Thomas Jefferson Classical Academy girls track team won the 1A state championship last Friday in Kernersville. It is the school's first state title in girls track and field. Members of the team are, Kate Bukta, Maple Cookson, Aubrey Soper, Haidyn Toney, Sarah Hargro, Naomi Harris, CeCe Brooks, Annie Kinmon, Brooklyn Harris, Demi Terry, Natalie Aiello, Samara Jones and Savanah Waugh.
