Hal F. Gibson, 71, of Selma, passed away at home Friday, December 12, 2025. He was born January 30, 1954, to the late Floyd Thomas Gibson and Madeline Allison Gibson. Hal taught Agri for over 31 years. He spent one year at St. Charles High School, two years at Sparkman High School, eighteen years at Fountain Hill High School, two years at Delta High School, and eight years at Hamburg High School teaching and inspiring kids. Hal had a passion for FFA and teaching kids about livestock, agriculture, and life skills. He was a cattle farmer his whole life and a member of the Drew County Cattleman's Association. Hal could cook up anything you could imagine and enjoyed sharing his cooking with everyone. He was very creative and enjoyed handcrafting all things leather. He always had a garden and enjoyed canning everything he grew. He loved telling stories of his time as a teacher and his and Mrs. Susan's adventures. He enjoyed riding their mules and showing off their wagons. He was a state officer for FFA and held an American Farmer Degree but Hal's biggest pride and joy was his family.
