Stung by seven runners left on base — each in scoring position — Clear Creek dropped a tough 5-4 decision to Goose Creek Memorial on Thursday night at Jim Kethan

Goose Creek Memorial scored all of its runs in one inning to post a 3-2 victory over the Wildcats, completing a best-of-three series sweep.

Following Thursday's tough Game 1 loss to College Station, the Mustangs came up clutch at the plate and on the mound in shutting out the Cougars 5-0 on Friday night to force a rubber game in their Region III Class 5A area round series.

Following what appeared to be a three-run triple by Caiden Wells, which would have broken open a scoreless game in the bottom of the fifth inning, the play was overturned by the umpiring crew when the Cougars challenged the bat used for the key hit.
