AIKEN — Dozens of families accepted a weekend invitation for free festivity at Smith-Hazel Recreation Center, as Cedar Creek Church provided a busload of volunteers and back-to-school donations.
The lobby of Aiken's municipal building has an unusual feature this week, in memory of the late Sen. Lindsey Graham.
School supplies, basketball, prayer and hot dogs were elements in a July 11 gathering in Summerfield Park, with Victory Baptist Church holding a back-to-school event.
