Larry Van Moer was born to Marie (Marcotte) and Herbert Francis Van Moer at the Tracy Hospital in Tracy on April 12, 1940. Larry was the second of the Van Moer's five children. The eldest, Joan (Halverson) was three years older than Larry. Charles Edward was four years younger than Larry. Like Larry, they were born in the Tracy Hospital. Larry's two younger sisters, Linda (Johnson) and Julie (Leese) were both born in Marshall hospitals. Linda was eight years junior to Larry and Julie 13 years younger.

This week Dr. Abdul El-Sayed won the Democratic primary for the 2026 U.S. Senate race in Michigan. It was a bit of a surprise, given that Haley Stevens had been ahead in the (increasingly unreliable) polls. When Donald Trump left the recent NATO summit, he seemed to be fleeing like a coward. Donald Trump has had a rough week for more than one reason – and it's still only Wednesday. Trump himself certainly seems to believe that the Supreme Court just ruled in his favor. This would be a devastating blow to our democracy if it had actually happened – but in reality it didn't happen.

Donald Trump, once known primarily for being a staunch racist and a brazen financial fraudster, is now mostly best known for being pathetic. I'm not saying that because I don't like him. I'm saying that because he has indeed become, by any objective measure, simply pathetic. The past twenty-four hours have encapsulated that with a far clearer lens than Trump seems to realize.
