The Minnesota Golden Gophers’ latest recruiting class continues to build momentum, drawing a commitment from Ohio tight end recruit Cross Nimmo on Thursday.

Recruiting season is starting to heat up for the Minnesota Golden Gophers, and head coach P.J. Fleck and co. made a splash on Friday by securing a verbal commitment from sought-after linebacker Emmanuel Karmo out of Robbinsdale.

Head coach P.J. Fleck and co. have been deliberate with their in-state scholarship offers during this recruiting cycle, but extended one to Andover wide receiver Cameron Begalle on Tuesday. He proceeded to committed to the Minnesota Golden Gophers on the spot.

LSU edge rusher Jaxon Howard announced Friday that he will be transferring to Minnesota. He will have four years of eligibility remaining after one season with the Tigers.

Well this is a first. Remember the name Adam Kissayi? You may recall that the three-star defensive end out of Florida committed to Minnesota in June of last year ahead of his senior high school season. About a month later, Kissayi decommitted upon receiving a scholarship offer from Clemson. He committed to and ultimately signed with the Tigers.

With only two scholarship quarterbacks on the roster this spring, head coach P.J. Fleck and co. were likely to dip into the transfer portal for another signal caller to bridge the gap between sixth-year senior Max Brosmer and true freshman Drake Lindsey. They appear to have found their man, with Virginia Tech quarterback Dylan Wittke announcing Tuesday night that he will be transferring to Minnesota. He will have four years of eligibility remaining.
