For the first time in more than a decade the PGA Tour is returning to Doral, sorry, Trump Doral, for the Cadillac Championship. The event is being contested over the Blue Course, which has a long history of challenging the PGA Tour's best. This week is almost no exception for a signature event. Five of the top 15 golfers in the world have taken a pass during a crazy-busy stretch on the calendar, headed up by Rory McIlroy. The course is a beast, stretching out more than 7,700 yards. It received an alteration back in 2014 when Gil Hanse brought it up to standards.

At a Monday press conference, Golf Canada officials announced who would be coming to the RBC Canadian Open – and who would not.

This week: The Truist Championship is another Signature event being played at Quail Hollow and coming a week before the PGA Championship. Seven of the top 10 world-ranked players are in the field this week, including Rory McIlroy, who makes his first start since slipping on his second Green Jacket. Not playing this week is the world's top-ranked player, Scottie Scheffler, who will not only play next week at the year's second major, but also likely play the two stops following the PGA which are both in his home state of Texas.

This week: The PGA Championship, the year's second major, is set to go at Aronomink Golf Club just outside of Philadelphia. The course is an old-school, Donald Ross design which is notable for its massive greens that average 8,200 square feet. So, hitting greens is one thing but proximity is more important. The rough is also up and can be a factor with some nasty lies possible.

This week – A regular tournament slammed between a stretch of signature events and major championships doesn't draw a very deep field, but there are still enough names and a challenging layout to get some interest. There is just one in the top 10 in the world ranking (J.J. Spaun) but seven of the top 20. The Colonial Country Club is a par-70, 7,289-yard layout that has proven popular with players, especially after a makeover three years ago. There's plenty of teeth around the course and it comes early with a stretch of three, four and five known as the Horrible Horseshoe. The winning score over the renewed layout was 12 and 14 under the last two editions and it may not change from that area this time around. However, the Fort Worth area has had a lot of rain, and the course is still a bit soggy which may play a factor.
