Intel's high-end Raptor Lake and Raptor Lake Refresh desktop processors are prone to crashes especially in games based on Unreal Engine. While this could be blamed on GPUs or silicon lottery at first sight, the actual cause for the CPU instability is the overprovisioned power settings on the motherboard.

Highlights for the KDE Slimbook V include a full aluminum chassis, a 16-inch IPS display with 2560 x 1600 resolution, 165 Hz refresh rate and 100% sRGB color gamut, as well as the pre-installed KDE Neon distro with the latest KDE Plasma 6 environment.

This year's Pavilion Aero 13 models finally get the AMD Zen 4 treatment, as HP provides APU options up to a Ryzen 7 8840HS. The Intel version comes with lower TDP processors from the Core Ultra-U series but gets a Thunderbolt 4 connector, while the AMD version features more powerful Ryzen 8040HS APUs yet remains stuck with USB-C 3.2 Gen 2 connectors.

After almost half a year from the official launch, laptops powered by Intel's Core Ultra 7 155H finally drop to a more realistic sub-$800 price point. The AMD Ryzen 7 8840HS processor makes its laptop debut on models like the HP Envy X360 14. Still, this particular model might not get you the best bang for your buck, as it combines the powerful processor with rather budget-oriented components that seem overpriced.
