Teenager Killed in Park Shooting August 15, 2025 August 15, 2025 Kristen Duus, PIO Greeley Police Department 970.350.9605 (office) Teenager Killed in Park Shooting GREELEY, Colo. – On August 14, at approximately 8:00pm, officers from the Greeley Police Department responded to Centennial Park in the 2200 block of 23 rd Avenue following reports of a shooting. Upon arrival, officers located an 18-year-old male with at least one gunshot wound. He was transported to Northern Colorado Medical Center where he was pronounced deceased. Prior to the shooting, witnesses reported a fight between occupants of a red truck and a gray sedan. Following the shooting, the suspect fled in the gray sedan. The suspect is described to be a Caucasian male. This investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information is encouraged to contact Detective Elizabeth Finch at [email protected] or (970) 350‑9682. This was an isolated incident and there is no danger to the community. No further details will be released today. The Rockies will begin a search for a new head of baseball operations immediately. “After a number of conversations, we decided it is time for me to step aside and make way for a new voice to guide the club's baseball operations,” said Schmidt. “It's been an honor to serve in the Rockies family for over 25 years. I'm thankful to the Monfort family for the opportunity, to my family for their constant support, and our staff for their tireless dedication.
