The Buffalo Sabres made the playoffs for the first time in 14 seasons and won the Atlantic Division for the first time since the 2009-10 season. They were able to do it in what was already considered a tough division where five of the eight teams made the playoffs.

It is about to become a busy time for the Montreal Canadiens and the rest of the NHL with the NHL Draft this weekend, followed by the start of free agency less than a week later. At this point, the Canadiens are trying to gather as much information as possible to build out a plan for the next few weeks.

The Montreal Canadiens could certainly benefit from adding some physicality this offseason, and there may not be a better free agent to achieve that than A.J. Greer. The Florida Panthers forward has had 425 hits over his past two seasons, but found a scoring touch with 17 goals, which was only one fewer than the 248 NHL career games he played in over eight seasons.

The Montreal Canadiens certainly are going to try to find another center for their Top 6. However, the challenge is that there are not many available of that caliber this summer outside of Mason McTavish at this point.
