St. John Vianney's girls basketball team won a national championship on Saturday, beating Long Island Lutheran in double overtime, 71-68, at the American Dream mall. The Lancers, who played as a club team, needed a late 3-pointer from Madison Kocis to send the game into extra time. St. John Vianney then pulled out the win in a back-and-forth thriller at The Throne, a national tournament that is run by the National Basketball Players Association (NBPA) and Gold Level Sports and Entertainment (GLSE).
