The Magic lost 2-0 to the Fargo-Moorhead Blaze on Sunday afternoon, managing just two hits off Kya Kulzer, both by Kaylee Rank. Layla Desjardin surrendered just four hits in the four-inning game. In the final weekend of AAA ball for some of the players — they elected to skip provincials to try something different — the Magic went 3-0 on Saturday, beating the Cass Trail Blazers 11-9, the Brainerd Warriors 18U 2-1 and the International Falls Ice Cats 11-3. Against Cass, Emily Beckwith had two hits, three RBI and two runs scored, and Alexa Banga singled in three runs. Brynna Andrew allowed eight hits and six runs in two innings to earn the win, with Desjardin allowing three runs in an inning of relief. In the Brainerd game, Desjardin gave up just four hits in five innings to earn a hard-fought victory. The winning run scored on a passed ball in the second inning as the Magic managed just two hits. Against International Falls, Beckwith had three hits, three RBI and two runs scored and McCanna Wiesner also had three hits, an RBI and scored twice. Olivia Koscielny went the distance, giving up three hits and one earned run in five innings of work for the win.
