With two more months left of the year, there’s just enough time to make right with that resolution to see more live music (or more of the city) in 2024. Either way, maybe it’s time to make that happen. There are plenty of opportunities this month to get out, especially with Thanksgiving coming up and one of the most notoriously busy bar times of the year associated with the holiday. Here are just a few shows to get you out of the house to see some old friends or make some new ones this month while giving thanks to the city’s creative culture and night life.

She'll start a tour in support of the record this month that begins with two back-to-back local shows this week in her hometown of Dayton, followed by a show in Cincinnati at the Woodward Theater.

“This documentary started as a personal quest to understand what made King Records special, but it turned into something much bigger,” Oyediran said. “It became about honoring the people who built this legacy and making sure their stories are told. It was a long, difficult journey, but I couldn't be prouder of what we created. King Records is one of the most important chapters in American music history, and I hope this film helps people appreciate the pioneers, the risk-takers and the artists who made it all possible. And most of all, I hope it inspires the next generation to pick up an instrument, tell their own stories and make something amazing.”

This year’s Mini-Fest is a little different, stretching over two days and branching out to downtown Dayton for a special appearance from beloved writer, director and underground icon, the “Pope of Trash” himself, John Waters.
