Quantrill was headed to the bullpen, but with Nathan Eovaldi heading to the injured list, the Rangers' pitching plans have changed. The right-hander has posted a 3.56 ERA in 24 outings (seven starts) this season, although he also sports a 5.03 xFIP and a 4.69 SIERA, both of which point to some regression moving forward.

Meidroth said he injured his wrist on a swing on Friday and it felt worse on Saturday before he sat out Sunday's series finale with the Guardians. He will remain out of the lineup following on off-day on Monday for Tuesday's series opener with the Reds, but it sounds like Meidroth has avoided a serious issue that would require a long-term absence.

Rodden will take the roster spot of shortstop Colt Emerson, who was demoted to Triple-A after some recent struggles at the plate. For his part, Rodden has hit .262 with 19 home runs, eight stolen bases, and an .841 OPS across 92 games for the Rainiers this season.

Infielder Brock Rodden has been promoted to the big leagues in a corresponding move.

Turang is dealing with right knee pain, and he is getting a second opinion on his MRI, according to manager Pat Murphy. Murphy added that whatever is ailing Turang does not appear surgical, but the results of the second opinion could determine more. He is day to day as of right now, but more information could be available on Friday.

Sasaki was forced to leave Wednesday's game after just 3 1/3 innings due to a blister on his right middle finger. The right-hander allowed four earned runs on six hits before departing, and now sports a 4.60 ERA through 23 starts on the season. Right-hander Seth Halvorsen has been recalled from Triple-A Oklahoma City in a corresponding move.

Halvorsen has been summoned from the the minors to take the roster spot of Roki Sasaki (blister), who was placed on the injured list on Thursday. Halvorsen, 26, has pitched one scoreless inning for the Dodgers this season after making his first 21 appearances of the season for the Rockies.

Bichette departed Wednesday's contest against the Brewers early, but seems to be doing better on Thursday. The first-year Met has come back to life after a disastrous start to the season, posting a .779 OPS and 117 wRC+ since the All-Star break.

The Blue Jays needed to clear a 40-man roster spot after they signed right-hander Michael Lorenzen on Thursday, and accomplished that be moving Clase to the 60-day IL. Clase has hit .273 with two homers across nine games for the Jays this season.
