TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) - As families across Tallahassee prepare to send their children back to the classroom, many are also bracing for the expenses that come with a new school year.

Leon County celebrated the 25th anniversary of the Dr. B.L. Perry Jr. Branch Library Saturday with a community event highlighting the library’s history and its continued impact on Tallahassee’s Southside.

In addition to receiving school supplies, students enjoyed pizza and snow cones during the event.

More than 30 local volunteers are using their sewing skills to help homeless children and families in Tallahassee through A Bag for Hope.
