Salida's Fourth of July parade and festivities brought people to town and families together and fun was had — despite the high temperatures.

In response to increasing demand on wildfire resources throughout Colorado, the South Arkansas Fire Protection District Board of Directors recently approved spending up to $50,000 to staff a Type 6 wildland fire engine “during periods of elevated fire danger.”
