Approximately 15 motorcyclists rumbled into the Jerry Skrivanek VFW Post 8185 parking lot in Port Deposit late last week, after spending the previous 20 days traveling a northern route across the country from Oregon as part of their annual mission to remember U.S. servicemen and servicewomen who made the supreme sacrifice.Wasting no time, they conducted a heartfelt ceremony to honor U.S. Marine Sgt. Michael Heede Jr.The son of Conowingo resident Gloria Crothers, Heede was killed on July 13, 2009, when a roadside bomb detonated while his unit was on combat patrol in the Helmont Province of Afghanistan.
