Anchorage police say two men died in separate incidents over the Labor Day weekend, including an unsolved hit-and-run collision as well as a police chase that partially closed the Glenn Highway.

Charges say Christopher Barraza, 40, told investigators that he’d been trespassed from Target for shoplifting before an August spree that led to his resignation.

Troopers say Kevin Neher, 42, was charged with animal cruelty after nine rabbits, six goats and a dog were found dead in June. Two live dogs and a cat were seized.

Police say the bodies were discovered outdoors early Tuesday, with officers taking “a closer look at the circumstances surrounding the deaths.”
