Westfield Technical Academy baseball advances to Round of 16

Westfield Technical Academy put a runner in scoring position in all six innings in which they batted, scored three runs with a two-out rally in the fifth, and leaned on the arm of senior pitcher Antonio Simpson. Those three things resulted in one big Round of 32 victory for the Tigers in the Division 5 baseball tournament.

The Westfield High School boys volleyball team delivered a stupendous effort in the third set of the Division 2 state finals against Wayland, racking up kill after kill after kill (seniors Andrew Yerak had four and Giovanni Gonzalez had two) and recording nearly a half-dozen blocks, the last of which came from senior Bogdan Kuzin to help the Bombers obliterate the Warriors by the score of 25-12.
