A hotel employee found the woman dead in a hotel room Thursday morning.

The man had been threatening suicide and told officers to shoot him, the Pinellas sheriff said.

One of the drivers tried to pass another vehicle and ran head-on into a minivan, troopers said.

Police said the woman reportedly made statements threatening to harm herself.

Police said the woman’s death did not appear suspicious, but the medical examiner’s office will determine how she died.

The agency said there is no active threat to the public.

The men broke three windows and tore up 14 landscaping lights, police said.

The children were not injured and have been reunited with family members, Tampa police say.

The crash occurred after a driver turned left in front of them, the Florida Highway Patrol reported.
