Florida will not accept the multi-billion-dollar settlement agreement between Meta and other states over teen social media addiction. Meta, the parent company of Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp, agreed to a $17 billion settlement with 47 states. However, Florida Attorney General James Uthmeier called the settlement a “weak payoff attempt” in a post on X.
The Titusville City Council unanimously approved a 13% increase in the stormwater utility assessment rate Tuesday. The hike will raise the current rate to $181 starting Oct. 1 and was the smallest fee increase proposed.
