The ruling follows the death of 18-year-old Mielun Butler, the latest inmate to die inside the facility. Butler was booked into the jail Wednesday on a murder charge. Less than 48 hours after his arrival, he was found unresponsive in his cell.

Anita Griffin said the news hit close to home. She voted for Mayor Lumumba and said she believed in him.

“When I tell you first responders have been stressed to the limit down here in Adams County over this 4th of July Weekend, we have been stressed out,” Patton said.
