He would end up swimming a 15:08 in the 1,650 (2nd) and 4:26 in the 400 IM (8th). However, Finke did bounce back on the last night, swimming a gutsy race in the 800 free final and using his patented closing speed to touch 1st in 7:56.

Kai Winkler had some big swims this weekend in Indianapolis, notably cracking the 51-second barrier in the 100 fly for the first time (50.92). This also meant he broke the first German national record of his career, dipping under the long-standing 51.19 set by Steffen Deibler in 2013.
