Attorney General Gentner Drummond has joined 48 other state attorneys general in urging the Federal Communications Commission to adopt stronger rules aimed at ending illegal robocalls.

The deal still requires court approval. The case has been before the 10th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals since a judge in April rejected a settlement agreement and issued a final judgment for the state.

In sentencing 25-year-old Tyrice Williams Jr., the judge called the crime one of the “most violent” and disturbing cases he has been associated with in his legal career.
