This surge of milder air will boost temps into the 70s in many locations across New England.

Thursday featured a surge of warm air into New England as a backdoor front went the other way, allowing a southwesterly flow to take over and send temps rising again into the 70s across Greater Boston.

Rain showers swept over much of New England on Sunday and have now mostly departed. Other than a stray sprinkle or shower Monday afternoon, we're looking at clouds, some glimpses of sun and much milder temperatures than Sunday.

This afternoon in the Boston area, temperatures should reach near 70 degrees in most spots.

After temperatures reached near 80 degrees in several inland spots on Tuesday, readings are going to start to fall back through the weekend.

Any clouds and fog Friday morning should dissipate, leaving us with partly sunny skies through the rest of the day a cool with highs in the mid-60s for Boston, warmer up north.
