A more linear system will push into north Mississippi early Thursday and reach central Mississippi by late morning or early afternoon. As this system approaches, it will potentially bring damaging wind gusts and hail, and certainly widespread heavy downpours. This will continue to impact the area through early afternoon as it continues pushing south. Behind this, mostly dry conditions are expected for the rest of Thursday afternoon and evening. By Friday, drier conditions will set in. This will allow temperatures to rise a little more than they have lately, with highs in the low to mid-90s. That drier and hotter trend continues Saturday with widespread mid-90s expected. It will feel more like the triple digits starting Friday through early next week.
