Santa Clara native Jarren Advincula is fresh off the best year of his NCAA career, his first with the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets. The second baseman led the Jackets with a .434 batting average. His .503 on-base percentage ranked third on a dominant Georgia Tech offense. The Jackets finished first in average, first in walks and third in doubles. A local youth basketball league won five trophies at an all-star tournament earlier this year. Foothill Youth Basketball (FYB) fielded 12 teams for an all-star tournament back in March in Pismo Beach. FYB is made up of 300 kids from Sunnyvale, Los Altos, Santa Clara and Mountain View. The teams are composed of boys and girls from third to eighth grade.
