Scotland County swept both their boys and girls scrimmages at the November 26, 2025 Canton varsity basketball jamboree. Scotland County took an 11-10 lead after the opening period.

Highland blew open their December 15, 2025 varsity girls game at Scotland County (4-2) with a defensive driven 16-3 second quarter run and powered to a 58-39 win. The Tigers started off well, scoring the first five points of the evening.

Highland senior Chevie Sharpe followed her heart when she chose John Wood Community College to continue her academic and athletic career. The Lady Cougar district champion basketball player signed a National Letter of Intent to attend John Wood CC and play basketball in an April 17, 2026 scholarship signing ceremony at Highland High School.

Knox County scored the first run in the opening inning of April 22, 2026 Lewis and Clark baseball play with Scotland County. Creighton Karhoff singled and scored a first inning run.

Marion County (0-9) scored a single run on a first inning passed ball. Heath Feldkamp took care of the rest, tossing a five inning no hitter at the Mustangs during May 1, 2026 varsity baseball play at Marion County.

Highland placed in seven events at the May 23-24, 2026 Class 2 MSHSAA Track and Field Championships at Jefferson City, Mo. The Lady Cougars scored 23 team points, good for ninth overall in the state.

Schuyler County and Eugene battled on even terms until the Eagles pushed five runs across the plate during the bottom of the fifth inning, advancing to the Class 2 Baseball Championships at Springfield on June 1-2, 2026.

Motorized electric bicycles may soon be humming along serene trails in national parks and other public lands nationwide. It's part of a new Trump administration order — hotly opposed by many outdoors groups — that will allow e-bikes on every federal trail where a regular bike can go.
