WARSAW – A heavy rainfall in Warsaw around 4 p.m. Friday, July 17, put a slight damper on the Kosciusko County Fair , but by 6 p.m. the heavy rain had moved out of the area.

WARSAW – Rain thinned the crowd for this year's Free Country Concert for St. Jude Friday night, but those who attended enjoyed an evening of country music from the 1990s.

KOSCIUSKO COUNTY – The National Weather Service of Northern Indiana issued a severe thunderstorm watch in effect until 8 p.m. for northern Indiana including Elkhart, Kosciusko, Fulton, Marshall, Noble, Wabash and Whitley counties.

PIERCETON – If you haven't made it to Pierceton Days , there is still time, as the two-day event ends tonight, Saturday, July 18. This year's theme is “Stars, Stripes & 250 Candles.”

WARSAW – The Kosciusko County Community Fair is winding down following the cancellation of the truck and tractor pull about an hour before the grandstand event was scheduled to take place.

SYRACUSE – It was a good day to be named “Bill” at the Wawasee Area Conservancy Foundation 's annual Lake Celebration Saturday, July 25. The celebration was held at WACF's Between The Lakes property.

SYRACUSE – Years of scientific research into Lake Wawasee's water quality have led to a troubling conclusion: the Turkey Creek Wetlands , long relied upon to filter nutrients before it reaches the lake, have become saturated and are now releasing more phosphorus than it removes.

SYRACUSE – Two bids have been received for construction of the new Turkey Creek Fire Territory Chief Mickey E. Scott Public Safety Training Center.

SYRACUSE – The 2027 tax rate for the Turkey Creek Dam and Dike Conservancy District may drop for district constituents as the district is now looking toward maintenance of the water control device and dike, along with maintaining the lake level.
