CAFCI held its 33rd annual Student Assistance Fund Award Ceremony with the theme “Empowering Youth & Investing in Our Future” on Saturday, June 13 at the Portuguese American Club in Loxahatchee Groves. At the ceremony, 18 graduating high school seniors were honored, including Frahima Adrien, Spencer Ahyee, Carlie Antoine, Aniya Barrett, Erieal Beckford, Allyson Bodden, Druann Clark, Joseph Floreal Jr., Gianna Garcia, Londyn Gregory, Brianna Mejias, Anissa Mills, Nevaeh Mossop, Jordan Reid, Daniel Rodriguez, Kyra Scott, Christina Valuntas and Katelyn Wilks. The Wellington Art Society held a reception for its current exhibit “Full Sun” at Wellington Village Hall and the Wellington Community Center on Tuesday, June 23. Wellington seniors enjoyed a luncheon themed “Red, White & You!” on Thursday, July 2 at the Wellington Community Center. Entertainment was provided by Jamie Craig and Pouya Pourtahmasbi of the Indigo Dreamers as seniors enjoyed lunch provided by Burger Fi. The event also celebrated the nation’s 250th anniversary.

The Women of the Western Communities held a quarter auction on Wednesday, July 22 at the Wellington National Golf Club. The event was organized with the help of Kerry Barnes from Quarters for Kindness. A total of 150 paddles were sold to enthusiastic bidders. Money raised will go to the group’s scholarship fund.

The Village of Royal Palm Beach held a Senior Health Fair on Wednesday, July 29 at the Royal Palm Beach Cultural Center. The event included vendors, raffles and demonstrations of available services for senior citizens.
