KC Diamonds return home after whirlwind June, eye chance to settle in at Legends Field

June has been a blur for the KC Diamonds, but they're finally home at Legends Field. After opening the month with games in Puerto Rico and then hosting their inaugural home series, the expansion softball club hit the road for a week-long trip that kept them away from Kansas City for more than a week. Travel delays pushed their return into the early-morning hours, with the team landing around 3 a.m. — and barely half a day later, the Diamonds were back on the field getting ready for their next homestand. Players say the road stretch brought them closer together, but it also reminded them what they have in Kansas City. The Diamonds now have six straight games on the schedule before their next break. They're looking forward not only to a chance to rest, but also to finally settle in and get practice time on their home field in Kansas City, Kansas.
