CANORA — The Canora/Sturgis RCMP responded to 81 calls from Dec. 18 to Jan. 8, some of which included: eight 911 Act calls,

The Canora RCMP were dispatched to a disturbance in the RM of Preeceville. The female caller reported that she and a man were assaulted by another man. The male victim's vehicle was also lit on fire.

The Canora RCMP were dispatched to a single vehicle rollover on Highway 9 by the junction of Highway 229. The driver of the truck was not injured.

A man assaulted a woman, then forced her out of a truck on Highway 9 by Crystal Lake. She was struck by a passing vehicle.

Canora RCMP were dispatched to a report of a fight. Police learned that two men were drinking alcohol and got into a consensual fight after arguing about who was tougher.

On June 6, the Canora RCMP investigated a theft of firearm in the RM of Keys. Similar thefts of items from vehicles were also reported in Sturgis and the RM of Preeceville.

Police went to a Canora residence and learned the caller was weed whacking in his yard when the neighbour threw a glass plate that nearly hit his head.
