The big story is drier air that’s settling in to the area for the next few days - that will mean a couple of things! First, rain chances will be near zero through Thursday, skies will feature a lot of sunshine during the afternoon, and morning lows will be in the low to mid 60s through Thursday morning.

A passing disturbance will give us a shot of some rain and storms on Saturday, but the coverage will only peak around 30% at a few hours into the afternoon and early evening.

Our forecast stays warm through the weekend with mostly mid 70s in the forecast for highs. Those that end up seeing a bit more in the way of sunshine could see upper 70s, while those that stay locked in with more clouds may stay in the lower 70s.

Rain coverage will return as we head into the weekend, but we are not expecting a drought-busting, steady, all-day kind of rain. Many folks will be disappointed by the amount of rain they get Saturday - with some folks not getting any at all.

COLUMBUS, Ga. (WTVM) - Rain and storms continue to push through the Chattahoochee Valley into the overnight hours. Embedded storms will provide plenty of lightning and thunder, and heavy rain will become more of a threat as we take you through the overnight hours.

Some patchy dense fog will be possible as we start off Monday morning - especially in places that picked up rain on Sunday. As you’re heading out to school and work, this will be something to keep an eye on - you can also track those foggy spots on our WTVM weather app!
