Recurrent heat waves could cost the Greek economy up to €13 billion from now to 2030, Allianz Trade warns in a report.

Greece will not only cease to be the most over-indebted country in Europe starting this year, but in 2027 it will also drop significantly on the global debt list, with the Greek debt index even lower than that of the US. This is the conclusion of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development's forecasts for the fiscal course of countries internationally.

The financing of companies through Euronext Athens is on track for a five-year, possibly even 25-year record, as before the end of the first half of the year funds amounting to €5.6 billion have already been raised, and by the month's end they are expected to exceed €6.6 billion.

Political stability in Greece is high on the radar of international firms in view of the 2027 national elections and is once again becoming a crucial factor for markets, ratings and, more generally, investors' perception of this country.

Euronext's goal of making the Greek stock exchange an import hub and enhancing market efficiency through access to the largest European liquidity pool is accelerating, with 2027 expected to be a milestone in this direction.

Greek companies and the state have already drawn almost €20 billion from the markets so far this year, with the role of international institutional investors being catalytic and a strong vote of confidence in the growth prospects of Greece's listed companies and in the resilience of the Greek economy.

Axia-Alpha Finance has joined the chorus of observers who see the National Bank of Greece making a move for Bank of Cyprus, while arguing that any such plan may run into resistance from the Cypriot government.
