Cyprus' biggest festival month is around the corner, bringing events for every taste, age and liking. July hosts over 20 festivals this year – from traditional village celebrations, to epic music gatherings, late-night parties and appearances from international stars.

Have a creative project or idea, but feel stuck? An upcoming workshop is dedicated to bringing creative ideas to life. Led by creative Natalia Panagiotou, the Make it Lab event on Thursday offers the space to explore the potential of these ideas.

The soothing scent of lavender will fill the mountain village of Platres on July 5 as it hosts its annual Lavender Festival, inviting visitors to experience the beloved herb through music, gastronomy, wellness and artisanal creations.

The second event of the Faneromeni26 Arts Festival of the Bank of Cyprus Cultural Foundation brings the musical performance Dimman Liman to downtown Nicosia. The last week of June welcomes a new art exhibition, bringing together 16 emerging and established contemporary artists across Cyprus and abroad. Opening on Friday, June 26 at the Nicosia Municipal Arts Centre (NiMAC), the A Slight Indisposition explores notions of transformation as a site for negotiation or reconciliation between sentience, sapience and space, and features a rich parallel events programme.

The Nicosia Municipal Theatre, at the heart of the city's cultural life, launches a new series of free-entry events taking place on the last Sunday of every month. Starting from June 28, the series will last until the end of August, enriching Nicosia's cultural summer calendar.

The heart of old Nicosia will once again transform into an open-air cinema, offering free film nights to all. As the Faneromeni26 Arts Festival returns, the courtyard of the Bank of Cyprus Cultural Foundation gets ready to host unique productions and films in association with The Friends of Cinema Society.

Live performances this Sunday in downtown Nicosia by Will Scott Ragtime Quintet and Misharoz set the stage for this summer's festival in Katydata.
