A group of women decked out in bridal wear gathered on the front steps of the Ohio Statehouse Wednesday, calling for an end to child marriage. Stephanie Lowry was forced into a marriage when she was just 16.
The group says more than 5,000 teens have been married in Ohio since 2000, with more than 50 of those marriages happening under the legal loophole. However, they hope their efforts today help bring those numbers down to zero.
