An Extreme Heat Warning is in effect for all North Alabama and Middle Tennessee counties through 7PM CDT. The heat index this afternoon will range from 106 to 114 degrees.

The heat index this afternoon will range from 105 to 112 degrees. Today does bring the potential of seeing widely scattered downpours and storms developing during the afternoon and evening timeframe, especially favoring locations over parts of Northeast Alabama and Middle Tennessee.

Like the past few days, widely scattered downpours and storms are going to develop for the afternoon and continue into the early evening. Some storms can become strong to severe in nature with potential for damaging winds, small hail, frequent lightning and locally heavy rainfall.

High temperatures today warm into the upper 80s with an afternoon heat index ranging from 93 to 98 degrees. More scattered to numerous rain showers and storms will develop by early afternoon and continue through sunset.

Today brings early sunshine and high temperatures quickly warm into the upper 80s by the afternoon. Isolated to widely scattered downpours and storms are going to initiate during the afternoon and linger through the later evening hours.

The afternoon heat index will range from 93 to 99 degrees before afternoon rain and storms move in. Scattered downpours and storms will develop through the afternoon and evening bringing concerns of brief gusty winds and frequent lightning.

High temperatures today approach 90 degrees with a bit less coverage of afternoon downpours and storms. Any storms that develop today will bring heavy rainfall, lightning and some gusty winds.

Today will be another active day as far as rain and storm potential as the upper-level center of low pressure continues to linger over the Tennessee Valley. Skies should remain cloudy for most of the day with tropical downpours and some occasional thunderstorms developing by late morning and continuing into the afternoon.
