Linn County Authorities report a one vehicle accident injuring an Anamosa man overnight. According to the report, the incident occurred just after 1:30 this morning. Deputies, along with 3rd Fire District and Center Point Ambulance responded to a personal injury accident on West Maple St and Hwy 13 in Central City. Emergency personnel arrived on scene to discover 57-year old Jeffery Heims of Anamosa was driving a truck pulling a camper when he stopped to check the lights on the camper. Heims had failed to put the truck in park, resulting in the truck rolling over his left leg. Heims was transported to a local hospital by Center Point Ambulance for what are believed to be non-life-threatening injuries. A passenger in the truck, 57-year old Michelle Schoon of Anamosa was not injured. The accident remains under investigation by the Linn County Sheriff's Office.

Linn County authorities report a motorcycle accident with serious injury yesterday. According to the report, Deputies along with Linn County Rescue 57, Prairieburg Fire, Coggon Fire, Center Point Ambulance, Monticello Ambulance, and AirCare Ambulance were dispatched just before 3pm yesterday to the area of Prairieburg Road and Maxwell Road. Witnesses came across an injured woman laying in the road. After further investigation it was determined that the lone female occupant was operating a motorcycle traveling north on Prairieburg Road, south of Maxwell Road, when she struck a deer. The female occupant was not wearing a helmet and was ejected from the motorcycle during the collision. The female occupant was flown by AirCare Ambulance to the University of Iowa Hospital with life-threatening injuries. The identity of the rider is being withheld currently until the rider's family is notified. Prairieburg road was closed for about an hour.
