“Toxic,” headlined by Yash, made a grand entry at the box office across the country. While the response in Karnataka, the actor's home state, is epic, the North Indian market has also contributed significantly to the morning shows' collections.

The James Cameron-directed film featuring Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet sold 2.70 crore tickets, out of which 2.50 crore tickets were sold during its original theatrical run and the rest were reissued between 1998 and 2001, followed by its 3D re-release in 2012.

While the Hindi-dubbed version collected ₹52.62 crore with an average occupancy of 47%, the original Kannada language version registered a phenomenal average occupancy of 88% and added ₹19.62 crore to the grand total.

The negative word-of-mouth has impacted the footfalls and box-office to such an extent that the movie's drop can be recorded as the biggest second-day dip in Indian history.

DoP Sudeep Chatterjee, whose body of work includes projects like “Chak De! India,” “Guzaarish,” “Dor,” “Bajirao Mastani” and “Padmaavat,” makes his Telugu debut with “Fauzi.” The veteran cinematographer praises Prabhas and shares, “Everyone I've worked with is special in their own way, but with Prabhas, you have to work with him to realize why people love him so much. There is just so much truth in his eyes. Not an iota of dishonesty. He has very honest eyes, and that comes through the lens as a beautiful human being. That is what audiences connect with,” says Chatterjee.

With a total collection of ₹165.95 crore, the film is expected to cross the ₹200 crore mark during its extended five-day opening weekend. Of its total collections, the Hindi-dubbed version has contributed ₹99 crore, followed by the original Kannada version, which has added ₹36.80 crore.

In 10 days, the rom-com made on a reported at ₹23 crore grossed ₹194.65 crore globally, with ₹82.45 crore (net) coming from the domestic market. While the film has surpassed the lifetime business of “Sarvam Maya” (₹151.25 crore), it is also set to cross the ₹200 crore mark today. It has also become Pauly's biggest grosser, surpassing the supernatural romantic comedy co-starring Riya Shibu, which had collected ₹76.84 crore during its theatrical run.
