This past Thursday, nine seniors from Alcovy’s football team signed scholarships to play at the next level. After four years of sharing the same sidelines, all nine Tigers will remain teammates at Arkansas Baptist College.

Earlier this month, Newton’s Omarion Wong and JaQiem Snell both penned letters of intent to continue their athletic careers at Waldorf University. The pair signed on May 1 as part of the Rams’ large signing day ceremony held in the school’s gym. For both athletes, the scholarship will allow them to continue both their track and field and cross country careers.

The Lady Rams flag football team dominated a pair of scrimmage games on Friday as the team welcomed North Clayton and Spalding to Newton’s new stadium. Newton’s football team took part in an intersquad scrimmage the week prior, but Friday’s action saw the Lady Rams defend their turf for the very first time. When it was all said and done, Newton’s defense rose to the occasion to record the 26th and 27th shutouts in program history.

On Thursday, four players from Alcovy’s soccer teams signed letters of intent to continue their respective careers. For all four, those careers will continue at Southern Crescent Technical College. Sisters Natalie and Valerie Alvarez, along with Alexa Aguilar and Mario Calderon, signed alongside one another in the Alcovy auditorium.

The Newton Rams football team got back into action in a big way on Saturday as the team traveled to Dacula to defeat the state champion Hebron Christian Lions 35-13. Despite the absence of numerous key skill players, the Rams did not miss a beat outside of a few turnovers.

Last Friday, people had their first chance to see the new-look Alcovy Tigers under first year head coach Diego Dixon. The team traveled north to take on former region foe Apalachee in a spring game.

On Tuesday, thousands gathered at Sharp Stadium to watch Eastside High School’s Class of 2026 walk across the stage for graduation.

The Alcovy Tigers’ Class of 2026 took center stage on Wednesday as the school’s seniors completed their graduation at Sharp Stadium.

Alcovy’s Janae’ Randall concluded her junior season strong on Saturday as she took home yet another first place medal. Randall was one of many athletes to compete at the Georgia Track & Field And Cross Country Coach Association(GATFXCCA) Meet of Champions at McEachern High School. While she was not the only state champion to compete, she was one of the few that finished in first once again.

The Newton Rams attended and placed at the Georgia Track & Field and Cross Country Association's Meet of Champions on Saturday. The event was held at McEachern High School, and the four Rams that attended earned top four placements.
