Brown acknowledged that, “on paper,” his new-look Sixers boast “excellent” talent as he prepares to play alongside LeBron James, Tyrese Maxey, Joel Embiid and VJ Edgecombe.

“The vibes are high,” Gansey said following Brown's introductory news conference. “Everyone’s excited. Once we get together, I’m excited to see what the journey’s going to look like.”

The Sixers’ other NBA Cup group play games will be Nov. 6 at the Cleveland Cavaliers (Amazon Prime), Nov. 25 vs. the Miami Heat (ESPN), and Nov. 27 at the Indiana Pacers.

The Sixers are viewed as preseason championship contenders after adding LeBron James and Brown, who will make his return to Boston on Jan. 21.
