The dairy business owned by the Hoffmann Family of Companies has added a new ice cream store, in a growing Metro East retail development.

The 30,192-square-foot store is the retailer's fourth in the St. Louis area.

The 1924 building at 6900 Delmar Boulevard was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1980. The sale closed June 11.

The couple spent years planning their custom home on a wooded lot. Within days of closing their construction loan, most of the money was gone.

Without the public financing package, rents after renovation would have had to be "significantly higher," the developer said.

A newly formed St. Louis-based facility services holding company that intends to buy service businesses has made its first acquisition – another local firm.

The deal transfers 32 properties across 13 funds, representing more than $200 million in equity and nearly 2,000 affordable homes.

The new residential treatment facility allows the nonprofit to provide long-term housing, therapy and educational services for minors recovering from sex trafficking.

The closure ends a three-decade run for the full-service casual restaurant chain at the site, where it opened in 1996.
